"We Are All In This Together"

"Heavy hearts, like heavy clouds in the sky, are best relieved by the letting of a little water"

Today was an emotional day in Room 138. It is tough to be a kid and it is always a struggle to find the right words to say (at any age) but especially while growing up. This activity was helpful for us to realize that we are all going through something personal and we continue to be strong here at school every single day!
As we sat down and wrote something heavy in our heart and on our mind we crumpled it up and began to cry. This moment was something we will never forget and continue to learn from. We will all know that anyone we meet or pass is going through something and we must always be humble and kind.

Our wall of Friends

Students in 3/4 have been studying the American Revolution and its significance in Vermont. They have been taught a lot of dates, important places and Historical figures. Most learned the most through hearing about these peoples lives and their connection during this time. We researched and studied all walks of life in this time. Below are some examples of our Facebook friends! :)

Spring Has Sprung!

We have started doing some planning for The North Hero School Garden!

Today's job was to start the seedlings in seed pods. They will be germinating over the weekend so we can begin planting. Students in grade 3- began planning out what we should obtain in our garden and where they should be placed based on origin and growth! This was a wonderful afternoon together!
Keep it up green thumbs!

Maple Sugaring

Wimble Family Maple Sugaring Presentation!

Friday we were able to get a "taste" of what it is like to go through the maple sugaring process. We learned more things than we ever knew before, while listening to Hailey and her father speak to us about their process in maple sugaring. Thank you so much Wimble family!

Mr. Wimble and Hailey begin their presentation.

Hailey gave a great run through of the steps it takes to tap a  tree.

Showing us how they tap a tree.

From sap to syrup.

Exploring with the materials.

TASTE TEST! mmm.

Music Soothes the Soul.

Oh... Fiddlesticks!

We had a wonderful presentation on string instruments from members of VSO who have branched off to have their own group called, Fiddlesticks. Our class were experts when they were having discussions about sound! There is something about music that gets your body moving!
Thanks for coming Fiddlesticks!
